Melissa Truelock
Executive Director

Melissa Truelock has held the position of Executive Director for Alert Adults since 2014.  She is passionate about children’s well-being and seeks to help create safe environments for the children in her community.  Melissa was a legal executive for two different law firms, administrative assistant for two nonprofit organizations, and taught elementary education for nine years.  As an educator, Melissa was selected as Owasso District Wide Teacher of the Year, participated in task force committees for the development of state curriculum objectives, assisted in spear-heading the development of a county-wide writing conference for elementary students and was selected by major curriculum companies to review and pilot reading programs.  Melissa currently home schools her two children and has been an active participant and teacher in various home school groups. She participated in the formation of a home school co-op where she enjoys reading stories to lower elementary and preschool children.  Melissa has served on various nonprofit boards including Tulsa County Reading Council, Oklahoma Reading Association and C.A.A.R.E.  She was the lead volunteer for the Personal Care Outreach Program at Owasso Community Resources and volunteered with the Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven.  Melissa holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree as well as an Associate’s Degree in Administration.
